Hello,
This is Marc writing.
I like to do a little bit of everything in this life I feel like living a varied life is a productive one.I'm writing from my new home in SMithtown, NY. The summer has come and I can't say that I am not happy-its been so crummy in the winter and the spring has felt more like an EXTENDED winter not really spring. But now its gone straight to almost 90 degrees and it will be through the rest of the weekend and then some.
This summer I am working on a few projects. I am working on getting accepted to SUNY Old Westbury in the fall and FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY(was that enough?) obtaining my bachelor's degree. In what doesn't really matter, probably education or psychology I just want to get the darn thing. Its been way too long. SUNY Old Westbury; I picked because for financial reasons it had to be a SUNY- SUNY Farmingdale didn't have the programs that I was looking for and the other SUNY, SUNY Stony Brook well that could potentially be a bit overwhelming with lecture halls of over 2 or 300 students in it and no or very little individualized attention, no I don't want that. So by default it went to SUNY Old Westbury. A good college and I hope to get accepted. Most tell me I will. If not in the fall, then the winter of 2018.
Also my songwriting is progressing. I have 4 videos so far and theyre all on my YOUTUBE channel.
"Making Love To An Empty Heart", "Tear Down ALl these Walls", "Every ( Little) Picture Tells 1000 Words", and "A Place For Believers" are all on there. Working on some other stuff too with Christina Montalto, my School Of Rock instructor in Port Jefferson.
I am also planning on driving for Uber when they start on the island on Saturday July 1st. This could benefit me tremendously financially. I have two jobs at a library and a hospital both are going well but not quite enough cash in coming in. To DO more you need to HAVE more, and then you GET more, and then you DO more, and then it becomes a domino effect. Or so they say.
Also joined a social network and keeping up with meetups. I was wondering if there was one that JUST LIKES TO GO TO THE BEACH- there really isn't. would be nice because I love the beach and there are so many on the island. But Ill still keep up with all of those activities. Just returned recently from a ROAD TRIP with my housemate and his friend to Upstate and New England. SO much fun. My favorite part was Rhode Island SO different to the EAst End of the island which is what I thought it would be like. NO NO so different and much more urban than that. Providence, wher6e we spent the night, actually right on the eastern border with Massachusetts, was so nice(despite the rain) and quaint, and what not. Salem, Mass was fun too. Vermont and New Hampshire was great for driving through despite the cool June temps so peaceful and rural and scenic and homely. Maine we didn't quite get to(pity) and Connecticut was, well, kinda just THERE! lol. New York State is a very picturesque state with lots of history to it too. Learned quite a bit.
Still want to do a few things also this summer that I didn't do last summer. Mini- golf, karaoke I did but want to continue. Still want to see a play or two at Theatre Three in Port Jefferson, do a concert I believe Kool and the Gang and Huey Lewis are coming to the island this summer, among others. Horse riding I want to try, again. Kayaking I haven't tried before, but they say it's a lot of fun. Pick up some more swimming at the beach of course, do some historic walking tours ( Three Village Historical Society has a plethora of them,), and maybe take an art and/or acting workshop. But that could wait until the fall though. And when it rains theres always indoor stuff like museums and the movies. But let's hope for less of those days this summer.
And of course try to go to the city even more. Been once already this summer and plan to do it a lot more. Might go to see a Broadway show in August WICKED which they say is really good.
So I hope to have a great summer.I really enjoy the island and the city and all that it has to offer. Great place to live.......
Cheers,
Marc.
